Structural Engineer in Miami & South Florida.
Licensed structural engineer serving South Florida — seawall, marine and building structural inspections with engineer-sealed reports
Structural engineer South Florida — seawall, marine and building structures
Souffront Contractors provides structural engineer services across South Florida — Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. We are a licensed Florida general contractor with licensed structural engineers on staff, which means the engineer who assesses your structure is part of the same firm that can design and build the repair. Most owners searching for a structural engineer in South Florida are told to hire one firm to inspect, another to draw, and a third to build. We do all three.
A structural engineer inspection answers one question the way a court, a building department or an insurer needs it answered: is this structure sound, and what does it need. Our reports are signed and sealed by a Florida-licensed structural engineer, FL Engineer Lic. No. 72462.
Structural engineer inspections we perform
- Seawall and marine structural engineering — caps, panels, tie-backs, king and batter piles, docks, davits and boat lifts
- Structural engineering inspection of residential and commercial buildings — foundations, framing, slabs, balconies and beams
- Storm and hurricane damage assessments for insurance and permitting
- Pre-purchase structural inspections for waterfront property buyers and lenders
- Special inspector services under the Florida Building Code — threshold, piling and structural concrete
- Engineer-sealed letters, reports and drawings for building departments across South Florida
Seawall engineering — our core discipline
Seawall engineering is a different problem from land structural engineering. The structure is loaded from both sides as the tide moves, the soil behind it is saturated and mobile, the reinforcement sits in salt water, and the failure usually starts where nobody can see it. A marine structural engineer reads a wall by what the cap, the joints and the soil behind it are telling you — not by what is visible above the waterline.
We provide seawall inspections, engineered repair scopes, and new seawall design and construction. See also our engineer-sealed reports and special inspector services.
When you need a structural engineer, not a contractor
Hire a licensed structural engineer when a building department requires a sealed letter, when an insurer disputes storm damage, when you are buying waterfront property and need to know what you are inheriting, when a contractor recommends a repair you want independently verified, or when a crack, a settlement or a leaning wall has appeared and nobody can tell you why. A contractor tells you what they would build. An engineer tells you what the structure needs.

Frequently asked questions
A licensed structural engineer evaluates whether a structure is sound and what it needs — seawalls, foundations, framing, balconies and marine structures. In South Florida the work is dominated by salt corrosion, saturated soils, storm loading and building-department requirements for engineer-sealed documentation.
A flat fee, quoted upfront before any work begins, based on the structure and the scope of the report required. You see the full number before we mobilize — there is no hourly drift.
If a building department, insurer or lender needs a sealed document, or you need an independent opinion on whether a repair is necessary, you need an engineer. If you already know the scope and just need it built, you need a contractor. Souffront is both, which is why owners use us when they are not sure which they need.
Yes — seawall and marine structural engineering is our core discipline. We assess caps, panels, tie-backs, king and batter piles above and below the waterline, and issue an engineer-sealed report a building department will accept.
